Olivers Pond Sprint Rain Or Shine

In spite of the mediocre forecast, tomorrow’s Olivers Pond Sprint will be open for business as usual!

Remember this is an unsanctioned, uninsured event and participants are responsible for their own safety. If it is rainy and you’re not comfortable riding in the rain then come out for a swim and a run! Or just a swim! Or just a run! Or just to eat!!

Either way the fun will start 10am at Ann Marie’s home on Olivers Pond Road off Old Broad Cove Road. Donations for the Wiseman Center and/or Easter Seals gratefully accepted, and lots of food for everyone! And you need not be signed up to take part so spread the word to others.

A couple of excellent performances by two of our junior runners in Toronto last weekend.

Running in the OTFA national qualifier meet at York University Patrick O’Grady took three seconds off his previous best in the 1500 meters with a time of 4 minutes 9.68 seconds.

In the same meet, Ryan Brockerville took command of the 3000 meter steeplechase and won by seven seconds in a great time of 9 minutes 17.38 seconds.
