The NLAA Road Race Committee met last night to fine tune the 2008 Race Calendar. The only change from our PREVIOUS POST is that the Quidi Vidi 5K is moved to August 24 to avoid conflict with the St.John’s Triathlon and the Summer Games.
Road races and other events are posted to the NL RUNNING EVENTS CALENDAR … if you have an event you’d like to add let us know at admin@nlrunning.com.

Congratulations are extended to Rose Marie “Doot” James who was recently accepted for this year’s 112th running of the Boston Marathon on April 21. Doot has run 5 marathons to date, placing among the top three in her age category in 4 of them.
Doot trains with Joe Ryan’s “Friends on the Run” and will join fellow group members George Blackwood and Judy Sheppard in Boston this year. Thanks to Joe Ryan for the news.
Also making his Boston debut is Don Fry from the Nautilus Running Club.

Good Friday comes early this year … March 21. In what is becoming a tradition, many runners converge on the McNamara Drive start line in Paradise 9am that morning for a taste of the Tely, finishing 10 miles later in Bannerman Park.
Note that Phil Gushue started this tradition a few years back and LAST YEAR almost 200 runners were on the route! Mark your calendar and plan your training accordingly.
