[NL RUNNING] Nautilus Quidi Vidi Run Next Friday

The Nautilus Quidi Vidi Christmas Run is next Friday December 10.

Join the gang on their usual 11k Friday night run around Quidi Vidi Lake leaving 5:30pm from the Aquarena. Then it’s back to the Quidi Vidi Brewery (new venue this year) 7pm for an evening of refreshments, snacks, and running banter!

Driving by Designated Drivers and Taxis ONLY!

The NLAA held its AGM last week and produced a draft calendar of events for next season.

[NL RUNNING] Santa Shuffle This Saturday – Location Change

The Santa Shuffle 5K fun run in support of the Salvation Army is this Saturday December 4 starting 10am. Note that there has been a change in location with this year’s run taking place at Mundy Pond.

You can register Saturday morning at the Salvation Army 174 Mundy Pond Road from 8:30am.

[NL RUNNING] A Few Tunes From Ginny

NL Runner Ginny Ryan has been running and volunteering for many years and is now celebrating the release of her first CD “Great Wings in Flight”.

Join her tomorrow Wednesday December 1 8pm at The Fat Cat Blues Bar on George Street where she’ll be performing a mixture of original and traditional folk songs with help from musicians Pamela Morgan, Brian Way, Jsaon Whelan and Theo Weber among others. Admission is free.

[NL RUNNING] National Cross Country Results

An outstanding sixth place finish was the highlight for Newfoundland and Labrador runners at the National Cross Country Championships in Guelph, Ontario on Saturday.

Kate Vaughan completed the 7k course in 24 minutes 27.7 seconds. Her placing puts her in a strong position for selection to the World Championships in 2011.

Other local finishes included a 46th place in the 8k Junior Men’s race by Liam Delaney. In the 10k Senior Mens division Ryan Brockerville was 46th, Grant Handrigan was 62nd and Adam Snow finished 83rd.

Irish Ultra Runner Tony Mangon is nearing the end of the NL leg on his World Jog and needs some help!
